About Us

Snowcats

Snowcats is one the UK’s largest social ski clubs, with over 500 members. The club’s annual ski programme includes 3 European ski trips each winter season; typically in December, January and March with party sizes ranging from 20 to over 100 Skiers and Walkers.

With such large numbers on each holiday, the Snowcats are able to secure excellent value price packages with the industry tour operators which are passed onto our members.

16th-23rd January 2022

Tignes, France

In late January 2022 Tignes, France, will again serve as the venue for our main Snow-Cats gathering where we ski in multiple groups and enjoy a large group dynamic and our annual championship ski race.

Fun for everyone

The Snow-Cats holidays offer multiple ski groups, typically between 6 and 8 people in size, of like-ability skiers to suit all standards. So, whatever your ability level, we can offer a well matched ski group for you. As these are ‘open’ groups, all are welcome – whether you’re a newcomer, or an old hand returning after a period away. It is the Snow-Cats greatest asset to be able to match members with other skiers of the same standard ensuring everyone skis at a level they’re comfortable with. And the care and attention the Snow-Cats brings to this process greatly adds to people’s enjoyment and experience on their holiday.

With an increasing membership, the Snow-Cats are a social and fun group of friends with a diverse age spread and broad range of ski abilities; from intermediates happy to cruise the pistes through to keen racers and off-piste mountain experts.

Not a skier

Whilst the Snow-Cats are at their core a ski club, our holidays attract a proportion of non-skiers who enjoy winter walking and adventures away from the slopes. So if you are the non-skiing half of a partnership, or travelling on your own, please be assured that you would not be without good company or entertainment during our ski holidays.

Your Club Leader

Mike Burns has been skiing with the Snow-Cats since he was a toddler, and has 35 years skiing experience. Mike and his wife Sarah, whom he met on a Snow-Cats holiday are honoured to continue the legacy of the Snow-Cats.

45 Years at the Helm

After 45 years of running the Snow-Cats ski club, Dr Mike Weston-Burt handed the running of the club over to Mike Burns, in 2011. Mike WB as we like to call him, is still a regular on the holidays and still leads one of the groups.

Racing for fun

Each year on the main January ski holiday the Snow-Cats hold their annual Championship Ski Race where there are prizes for all standards, beginners through to experts.
