The Snowcats embark on an exciting spring trip to Cervinia, Italy where we stay at the lovely Hotel Breuil. The Snowcats haven’t been to Cervinia since 1971 so make a welcome return to this fantastic area after 55 years!
Cervinia, Italy
Cervinia is an Alpine resort (2050m) set in the Valle d’Aosta region of northwest Italy. It’s one part of the Matterhorn Ski Paradise, which includes Cervinia, Zermatt, and Valtournenche.
Originally a climbing village, Cervinia has blossomed into one of Italy’s prime ski destinations. The compact, car-free town boasts a centre adorned with cobbled streets, rich in historic charm and modern aesthetics. Amidst its vibrant main street, you can discover a wealth of shops, bars, and restaurants, echoing Italy’s rich tradition of style and gastronomy.
The breathtaking views from Cervinia, set in a high-altitude basin between the iconic Matterhorn and Piccolo Cervino, are nothing short of spectacular. A remarkable feature of Cervinia is the price point, especially when compared to neighboring Switzerland.
With a network of slopes connecting Breuil-Cervinia to Zermatt, and to the Plateau Rosà and Ventina glaciers, the skiing area is vast. With 350km of pistes extending up to 3480m across the area, skiers are spoilt for choice of where to ski through the week.
Encompassed within spectacular scenery under the gaze of the always impressive Matterhorn, one of the many advantages of the area is that it caters for all grades of skier and off the slopes has something for everybody to do.
The area is also home to the longest run in Europe, the Klein Matterhorn, a superb 22km red that starts on the Swiss side of the border and descends 2,359m to Valtournenche.
Guided days and heli-skiing will be offered to the more capable skiers on the holiday if conditions allow.

Hotel Breuil
The HOTEL BREUIL will be our home for the week. Located right by the slopes and a short walk to the town centre, getting on the mountain couldn’t be easier with the Cretaz chairlift just behind the hotel.
Finished to a high standard with comfortable communal areas and large bedrooms. The lounge and large dining area offer plenty room for guests to sit together to enjoy fabulous evening meals. All the spacious bedrooms are fully en-suite, and equipped with a safe, hairdryer and free WiFi.
The hotel also has welcoming spa facilities for after skiing including a fitness room, steam room and sauna.

Food at Hotel Breuil
The hotel’s restaurant serves a comprehensive buffet continental breakfast with everything from fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, cereal, selection of cold meats and cheeses to traditional Italian breakfast cakes. A selection of juices and hot breakfast items including bacon and eggs is also available.
Dinner is made up of four courses with a choice of options for each, with accompanying salad and dessert buffets also available each day.
Ski Groups
Skiing in groups of about 5-8 people is an important aspect of Snowcat club skiing. We offer multiple groups of like-ability skiers to suit most standards, so providing your ability level is intermediate (see below note) through to expert, we can offer a well-matched group for you.
Winter Walkers
Cervinia offers some great adventures for our non-skiers including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and an array of prepared walking trails.
Snowshoeing, a popular choice in the area, offers various routes suitable for beginners and experienced hikers alike. Routes can be found departing from Plan Maison and the Valtournenche-Salette cable car station.
You can also enjoy ice skating, ice karting, snowmobiling, paragliding, tobogganing, dog sledding as well as shopping & lunching in Cervinias array of couture retail, cafés and restaurants.

Travel
Our travel is a Saturday morning departure from London Gatwick to Turin. Alternative flights available from Edinburgh (£39), Manchester (£29) and Birmingham (£19). Flight supplements subject to change.
Insurance
The Snowcats does not provide any form of travel insurance so we ask that party members arrange their own Travel / Ski Insurance.
